Hair today...

Hi! I have decided to start a blog in the hopes of banishing my summer boredom. Yes, I will have a job, and no, I will probably not have consistent access to the internet. I'm not even sure that I do anything interesting enough to document...but today is EPIC and deserves documentation!

Since I was young I've always wanted to cut my hair and donate it to a foundation that makes wigs for cancer victims. I've been researching different foundations: Pantene Beautiful Lengths, Locks of Love, etc; but one that I particularly liked was Pink Heart Funds. I chose Pink Heart mainly because they accept chemically-processed hair, and if anyone knows me, they know that this describes my hair to a T. I have a love affair with dyeing my hair any color possible:

I'm naturally a mousy, nasty brunette

but I've tried blonde (without much success),

red (because my hair oxidized - i.e. turned red from the reaction of my hair + the sun + not keeping up the color),

and black (on accident).

But my fetish doesn't stop with hair color. My second love is dreadlocks. I think they're beautiful and I've tried them twice.

Dos

With all that said - I have never once tried the kind of haircut that I want:

I'm not very adventurous with the style of my hair (other than dreadlocks) so this is a really big step! THEREFORE - I'm going to wash and dry my hair, chop it off, save the ponytail, send it off and then go get my hair professionally cut like Ms. Sossamon here. Before and afters to follow!
